When Washington State University students study abroad, they return transformed. They gain more complex, developed perspectives about global issues and the people affected by them. Global Cougs, such as the ones in the video above, add vital intercultural dimensions to civil society and global collaboration from classroom discussions, to capstone projects, to community interactions.
After graduation, students who have studied abroad are twice as likely to be employed within the first year as students who did not study abroad, and they out-earn these peers by nearly $7,000 annually! Most Global Cougs learn valuable skills abroad that reflect in their ability to adapt to today’s diverse workforce and are rewarded by high levels of job satisfaction.
Despite this, fewer than three percent of WSU students can reap the benefits of studying abroad. Your gift to International Programs will support more students becoming Global Cougs, and will enable them to be transformed so they can transform the world.
Giving Tuesday was a success, because of YOU! Thank you to all who participated!
