WSU Department of Mathematics and Statistics

We are passionate about mathematics.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees.

Our faculty pursue research in a variety of areas and work with other researchers throughout the university, at other universities, and in business, industry, and national labs.

We are committed to excellence in teaching at all levels. In addition to coursework, we offer students experiences beyond the classroom; for example, students have the opportunity to work with a professor on research and present the results at a conference, organize mathematics events for the department, attend a professional conference, or visit mathematicians in their workplaces. These experiences provide additional educational experiences and teach important work and life skills.
