Department of History
The Department of History gives students the tools to understand how today’s world was shaped. Our courses cover war and society, race and civil rights, Indigenous history in the Americas, Latin American history, women and gender, religion, refugees, public history, and modern Asia.
Students engage with texts, historical context, and lessons from the past to tackle today’s challenges. A history degree builds strong skills in speaking, research, analysis, and writing—preparing graduates for careers in business, law, public service, journalism, and education.
