Department of Psychology

With the largest number of certified majors across the WSU system, the Department of Psychology offers undergraduate degrees and programs in nine areas of study, as well as a combined Psychology/Pharmacology option, clinical graduate and experimental graduate studies. The department also offers opportunities for undergraduate students in research, service learning, and practicum. Psychology degrees from Washington State University prepare students to enter the job market and contribute their knowledge and skills in a wide variety of fields.

This #CougsGive, we are seeking donations to our excellence fund to support students. By contributing to this fund, donors enable the Department of Psychology to respond quickly and effectively to the evolving needs of students, ultimately enhancing their educational experience and success.

The excellence fund provides significant benefits to students by offering the flexibility to address the most pressing needs and opportunities. Here are some key ways these funds can make a difference:

  1. Scholarships: Unrestricted funds can be used to provide scholarships and financial aid to students, helping to reduce their financial burden and allowing them to focus more on their studies.
  2. Research Opportunities: These funds can support student research projects, enabling students to engage in meaningful academic work, gain valuable experience, and contribute to their field of study.
  3. Travel and Conference Attendance: Unrestricted funds can cover travel expenses for students to attend academic conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities, enhancing their learning and networking experiences.
  4. Guest Lectures and Workshops: The department can use these funds to invite guest speakers and organize workshops, providing students with access to diverse perspectives and expertise.
  5. Technology and Resources: Unrestricted funds can be allocated to upgrade technology and resources, such as laboratory equipment, software, and research materials, ensuring students have access to the best tools for their education.
  6. Extracurricular Activities: Unrestricted funds can support extracurricular activities, such as student clubs, competitions, and other events that enrich the student experience and foster a sense of community.
