#CougsGive might be over, but you can still make your gift here.
Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art/WSU
Support Student Experiences at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU

The Kenneth D. and Nancy A. Spitzer Student Experience Fund creates student opportunities within the museum, giving students the chance to work alongside professionals, gain valuable skills, and build their resumes. Your gift can help support students who:

  • Answer your questions about exhibitions, artwork, and the museum.
  • Practice their photography in a museum-hosted internship.
  • Assist museum staff with day-to-day museum activities.
  • Assist with tours, programs, and special projects at the museum.
  • Provide support for student and museum led programs including art projects, K-12 school collaborations, and more!

With your gift on this CougsGive, you can help provide hands-on opportunities for students and equip them with real-world scenarios, enhancing their educational journey. Your support helps provide exceptional experiences that enrich and prepare all Cougs for life beyond WSU!

Image 2: Natalie, a museum Visitor Ambassador, leads a group of elementary school children on a tour, observing and practicing visual thinking strategies to interpret art.

Image 3:  On September 27th, 2025, the museum hosted a community pop-up market where students and the public could pick up free produce, learn about agriculture programs, and get a bite to eat. This project was in conversation with the exhibition The Art of Food:  From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation.

Image 4: Curator of Education, Kristin Becker, talks with a group of WSU students in the museum’s Collection Study Center—a space for students, faculty, and researchers can learn more about the museum’s permanent collection and its artists.

Image 5:  A WSU Human Development student with a young learner is prompted to consider “What would you grow, in your garden?” and create a “garden collage” in connection to the exhibition The Art of Food:  From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation.
