WSU Pullman Chancellor’s Excellence Fund
When you give to the Pullman Chancellor’s Excellence Fund, you are providing direct support for meaningful programming at WSU Pullman. The Chancellor’s Excellence Fund has the flexibility to meet any needs as they arise. This fund has been used for a variety of initiatives on the Pullman campus, including bringing in speakers and artists, supporting registered student organization events, and expanding community engagement efforts.
As donors like you help expand the Pullman Chancellor’s Excellence Fund, we’ll be able to provide more direct student aid (meal/housing assistance) and grow our investments in student services, cultural enrichment, new experiences, and faculty recruitment. The Pullman Chancellor’s Excellence Fund ensures that prospective students, current students, staff, and faculty all see themselves represented and cared for at WSU Pullman.
WSU Pullman Food Pantries for Students
Your donations provide food such as grains, proteins, soups, canned vegetables and fruits, and other non-perishable items that fill the Pullman campus food pantry. The Pullman food pantry provides students experiencing food insecurity with healthy food and hygiene options, allowing them to better focus on their studies and families.
According to a Washington Student Achievement Council survey in fall 2022, “Nearly 4 in 10 students surveyed (38.3%) reported experiencing food insecurity in the last 30 days”. The report goes on to say that some groups are disparately impacted by basic need insecurity. American Indian/Alaska Native students and Black students experience basic needs insecurity at rates 20% higher than White students. Students formerly in foster care reported the highest rates of basic needs insecurity: 67.5% experienced food insecurity.
Your gift helps ensure that no WSU Pullman student has to worry about where their next meal will come from or if they will be able to buy hygiene products.
