Cougar Athletic Fund
The Power of IX Campaign

When Title IX legislation was passed on June 23,1972, it established a path toward equal representation for women in sport and education. A half-century after the foundation was laid, the journey continues. Trailblazers like Karen Blair, Sue Durrant, Jeanne Eggart, Marcia Saneholtz, Jo Washburn, and countless others courageously paved the way and set the tone for 50 years of strength, advocacy, growth and power for women in sport at Washington State University.

The Cougar Athletic Fund will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Title IX by sharing stories to honor the past, celebrate the present and illustrate how you can support the future of women in sport through the Power of IX Campaign. Driven through the establishment of the Power of IX Excellence Fund, you can champion our female student-athletes with a gift to support the nine women's teams at WSU and ensure current and future generations of Cougs have the resources needed to be successful on and off the field of play.

The Power of IX Excellence Fund was established to honor WSU's Title IX pioneers and grow resources for the advancement of all female student-athletes and female sport programs. The Power of IX name was chosen to reflect the Title IX initiative, the power of women in sports and the nine female sport teams currently represented at WSU.

This fund shall be used to advance the mission of Title IX at Washington State University and to support the operations and success of all female sport programs and female athletes at WSU.

In addition to the Power of IX Excellence Fund, those interested in supporting specific sport initiatives are encouraged to do so through each sport's own excellence fund. Through facility improvements, scholarship need and more, find your path to honor the past, celebrate the present, and support the future of females in sports.

Please note that your donation to the Power of IX Excellence Fund or sport specific funds does not apply to (CAF) membership requirements or for football or basketball priority for season tickets and parking.
