Nursing education is still people-centered: Our Coug Nurses learn through clinical experiences and outreach in hospitals and homeless shelters, in clinics and in schools.
Technology rounds out this traditional nursing education. Simulation using sophisticated mannequins helps students learn skills they might not encounter in a clinical setting. They can also safely practice high-risk procedures and learn to work as part of a team in a realistic healthcare environment.
The Experiential Learning Fund for Nursing Education took another step forward last year with additional technologies like simulated electronic records, and a new focus on simulation scenarios that more closely reflect the diversity of the world that nursing students enter as skilled professionals.
