#CougsGive might be over, but you can still make your gift here.
Cougs Rise Excellence Fund

Gifts to the Cougs Rise Excellence fund support student’s placement in research labs and participation in other high-impact practices to support their engagement at WSU. Gifts will also provide scholarship support for DTD participants enrolling at WSU immediately after high school graduation.

College Access and Transition Programs are at the heart of Washington State University’s land-grant mission – expanding educational opportunities to those historically underrepresented.  Our equity-infused approaches begin by developing pathways at the secondary level and implementing high-impact practices to advance a culture of academic excellence and to ensure post-secondary, and long-term success.  Our students are entrepreneurial, trendsetters, and drivers of their achievement.  We are assets-based and believe in the transformational power of education – we know that when the needs of students are met with educational opportunities, students can live fulfilling and purposeful lives for the benefit of themselves, their families, and their community.

COUGS RISE

Cougs Rise works with low-income and first-generation students as they transition to college, providing support to finish high school strong and start their higher education journey successfully. In addition to assisting with the process of going to college (financial aid application, admission, registration, housing, etc.), Cougs Rise provides transition students with a mentor who is a current Coug and had similar experiences along their journey.

DARE TO DREAM

A collaboration with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction’s Migrant Education Program, Dare to Dream (DTD) supports high school students of migrant/seasonal farm working backgrounds. DTD provides mentoring, summer programming, and credit completion in math and science.
